Sandi Škerk is a winemaker who knows how to interpret the typical vines of Friuli, emphasizing the mineral essence of the territory. At the root of his work there is a minimalist philosophy that supports an entirely natural and organic approach. 
Skerk is located in Duino-Aurisina, one of the most important marble extraction centers in Italy since Roman times, home of the Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve, with the local rock considered its treasure and its soul. The cellar is a simple cave carved into the karst rock.

The signature minerality the wines possess is due to the vines growing on limestone soils of the Karst Plateau, in terraced vineyards approximately 350 meters above sea level. The vines have an average age of 40 years, and enjoy the Adriatic Sea breezes rising from the Gulf of Trieste.  The climate and terroir are perfect for the cultivation of Vitovska, Istrian Malvasia and Terrano, the historic grapes of the Karst .

In the cellar, the temperature is naturally controlled by the rock, the wines ferment on their skins in traditional inverted wooden vessels and no filtration is carried out before bottling.
