The estate was established in 1980 as a wedding gift from Andrea Ferraioli to his wife Marisa, along with the mutual challenge of making wine in a tough, tricky and unique area. Tiny plots of land farmed with ‘heroic’ agricultural methods produce extreme wines, properly defined as ‘rock wines’ with a tang of the sea. They are made from native local vines over a century old, including great varieties like Falanghina, Biancolella, Ripoli, Fenile, Ginestra, Aglianico and Piedirosso to name just a few. They are preserved in the heart of a mountainous area and the couple are the custodians, not only of the historical and cultural prestige but also of its passion and determination.
