Cantrina is the name of a small town, in the municipality of Bedizzole in Lombardia, located on moraine hills dating back to glacial times. The winery is in the Gardesano hinterland, in the wine area called Valtènesi, on the shores of Lago di Garda. It is a small family business, run by Cristina Inganni and Diego Lavo, that grows both French and historical native grapes from the region.
In the six hectares of vineyards there are diverse varieties such as Riesling Renano, Sémillon, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Incontro Manzoni, Pinot Nero, Merlot, Rebo, Groppello and Marzemino, all processed in a way that is free from production regulations and leaving room for experimentation. which has been the company's DNA for years.
Integrated pest management methods with low environmental impact that reduce to a minimum the use of agricultural chemicals, use of sexual confusion techniques in the fight against harmful insects, and continuous monitoring to prevent the development of parasites underline the sustainable vocation of the company.
The choice of grape varieties and winemaking methods are defined by Cristina and Diego, and their techniques are a free exercise in style precisely to emphasize absolute freedom of interpretation and production.
