In 1960 a group of grape growers came together and embarked on a very important winemaking venture for the region of Sardinia. The project was coordinated by ETFAS (Association for Sardinian Agrarian and Land Transformation) and in the 1980s reached a big turning point when director Antonello Pilloni brought on legendary enologist Giacomo Tachis. Tachis fell in love with the beautiful landscape in the heart of Sulcis, its native varietals, and the bold project of Santadi. His expertise resulted in a big qualitative improvement in their wines which are now sold internationally and act as ambassadors for the region of Sardinia.

Santadi Cellar is located in Sulcis, an area in southwest Sardinia, just a few kilometers away as the crow flies from Porto Pino’s beautiful beaches and white dunes.

Santadi is a real team effort and a paradigm of a winemaking collective that maintains a close relationship to its native land. Santadi has successfully combined masterful enology with high quality local grapes producing excellent results.
