From Montepulciano grapes grown organically in Loreto Aprutino on clay and limestone soil. Vinification in stainless steel, 20 months in barriques and eight months maturing in the bottles. The wine takes its name from a mischievous elf in Abruzzese folklore.
Description
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with garnet rim. Vibrant, generous aromas with clear hints of bottled cherries, chocolate, vanilla, carob, dark spice, liquorice, Virginia tobacco, closing on an enjoyably lingering balsam sensation. The palate is velvety, rounded, beautifully structured, very fresh and perfectly tangy. Close-knit, well-measured tannins and a long, lingering, balsamic finish.
