Property of the Romei Rigoli family since the end of the 19th century, the winery is located near the Ombrone river and the Medici Villa of Poggio a Caiano in central Tuscany. The name originates from the poem “Ambra,” written by Lorenzo the Magnificent. Carmignano wine is typically a blend of sangiovese with a small addition of french grapes (cabernet), which was introduced to the region in the 16th century by Caterina de' Medici, then queen of France. Giuseppe, whose vineyards are certified organic, follows a completely personal research path aimed at enhancing the essence of the company's four cru vineyards, whose wines that are bottled separately.
