At the beginning of the last century, Ivan Miklus acquired land to be used for the cultivation of vines. With the help of his son Franz, he renewed one hectare of land by hand, laboriously digging the hard soil up to 80 cm deep. Draga Miklus is now a modern winery, founded in 1992 by Franz’s son Milan and his wife Anna.  Today the company is enthusiastically managed by their son Mitja who is dedicated to low environmental impact systems, renewable energy, and maximum respect for nature.  The results of his efforts are their award winning wines produced with local grapes.
