In 1919 Telesforo Boschis, a vintner from Barolo, moved to Dogliani, district of Pianezzo, just a few days before his son Francesco was born. Together they sold grapes until 1968 when Francesco and his son Mario decided to produce their own wine. They started with a few hundred bottles of Dolcetto, known today as Dogliani Pianezzo. As the years passed, they not only decided to focus on Dolcetto as their principal grape, they also began planting small vineyards in different locales, resulting in Vigna dei Prey in 1983, Sorì San Martino in 1986 and Vigna del Ciliegio in 2001. All of these wines belong to the denomination Dogliani Superiore DOCG. The winery is situated on 20 hectares of land, about 10 of which are planted with vineyards. The remaining land is dedicated to hazelnut trees, fields, and meadows with some beehives. Today Dolcetto is the most characteristic product of the winery and the entire zone, constituting about 80% of the local wine production.

Today the winery is managed by Mario and his two sons, Marco and Paolo. They have totally eliminated the systemic use of antiparasitic products. The vineyards are located high up on steep, rugged, cliffs over 500 m above sea level and preside over a pristine, uncontaminated landscape. The vineyards are worked manually as they are too steep for machines and each varietal is vinified separately.
