Vineyard location
The winery is situated on the slopes of Vesuvius in the heart of the Mount Vesuvius nature reserve at Terzigno, three kilometres from Pompeii. Here in this oasis of biodiversity that has always attracted international visitors, Vincenzo and his three children, Giovanna, Alberto and Francesca, have contributed their different skills to the estate since 1997.
Production philosophy
The Villa Dora estate, named after the owner’s wife, offers a particularly representative range of wines from this area, although it only consists of three labels.
Native grape varieties (Caprettone and Falanghina for the whites, Piedirosso and Aglianico for the reds) are the winery’s strongpoint. The seventy-year-old ungrafted vines, mostly trained using the Vesuvian pergola system, surround the cellar which is carved into the volcanic rock.
Biodiversity, low environmental impact, and research are typical of all our wine and oil production.
